While Aidan would never forget the thirst of being a vampire he thought that he had come to a place where it didn't haunt him like it used to. Drinking blood was an addiction, possibly stronger than any other since it would kill him if he didn't do it while a vampire, so he didn't think he'd ever be free about it.
He used to have nightmares about it, about the insatiable thirst for it and the horror of knowing what giving in to it would be. There hadn't been a dream for a while though, not since Rachel, not since he had something that was more important and more powerful than that all consuming need to drink.
Which is why it was so unexpected when he felt the thirst again, the hunger pains that let him know that his body was going to kill or be killed if he didn't consume blood right this instant. Fortunately, something even worse followed right on the heels of the thirst, something that prevented him from sinking his teeth into the warm body next to him and having his fill.
The burning. The burning came and the agony was unspeakable. He screamed, not even sure if he was making a sound, the pain was so all encompassing. Every nerve ending was literally on fire, the vampire's price for entering a home without being welcomed.
He tried to leap out of bed but the pain was too intense, his movements powerful but uncoordinated. Aidan wasn't even sure if he knew where the door was, he just knew he had to get out fast or he was going to die.
"Out!" he screamed, stumbling forward. "Have to get out!"

Date: 2014-04-01 04:45 am (UTC)Tonight was no exception and she awoke to the feeling of her own skin peeling off her bones, followed by the realization that it wasn't her pain she was feeling, followed by, "AIDAN!" Sitting bolt upright, she saw him stumble... wherever he was going and she barely had enough time to separate her thoughts from his before she stumbled out of bed after him. "What's wrong?!"

Date: 2014-04-01 04:54 am (UTC)Aidan was running on instinct now, his mind barely registering what was happening. Vampires newly turned needed to be done so outside of a home owned by a human. The same thing happened if the ownership of a home changed hands while a vampire was inside of it... they started to burn. He only had moments before he was dead but he was nothing, if not a survivor, and his instincts were as strong as ever.
"INVITE ME IN! INVITE ME IN!"
His clothes were burning off as he stumbled to the door, smoke filling the hut. He was so thirsty and the burning hurt so bad as his flesh literally turned to ash. All he wanted to do was get out of this place or be welcome. Anything to make the pain stop, anything at all. He'd forgotten that it was even possible to hurt as badly as this.

She could still feel his pain, his panic, she could catch the edges of thoughts although she knew prying now would be a BAD idea. "Wonderful, now we all get our powers back. This is gonna go over really well."

Date: 2014-04-01 05:06 am (UTC)Aidan lay curled up in a ball on the floor, the pain finally subsiding a bit. The burns were still there, the sort of injury that didn't heal all that quickly, but at least they weren't getting worse. His skin was charred through in most places and his entire body was shivering uncontrollably. He was lucky that he still had his vocal cords and could talk.
"C-clinic," he rasped, voice sounding like it was drug over sandpaper. He coughed and bits of ashes flesh flew past his cracked lips.
"Get out. Blood at the clinic."

Date: 2014-04-01 05:22 am (UTC)"I'm not leaving you." She fell to her knees next to him, taking stock of his injuries. She had a pretty good idea of what had just happened and what he needed and she was pretty sure that even as fast as she could fly, why bother when she was already right here.
Easing her mind towards his, she spoke as calmly as she could, "I can help, with the pain, if you want me to, and if it hurts you don't need to talk out loud, just think clearly." Turning off pain in the mind was an old trick, but a good one. And she was pretty sure it would work on vampires, too. "Aidan, if you need blood...."

Blood! So thirsty for it. Lunging, biting her neck, drinking her dry. More of it, drinking until he was mad with it.
He didn't want that, at least a part of him didn't, and if he wasn't so weak he knew that he would be biting her right now. He knew that he didn't have the control to stop, not when he was like this. Aidan needed so much of it and she was the only source right now.

Date: 2014-04-02 01:31 am (UTC)"Okay, I can do that. I can totally do that." Rachel knew she wasn't quite awake yet or she wouldn't be doing what she was about to do. She could practically hear Storm yelling at her, but she didn't care. All she saw, all she felt was Aidan, in pain and needing something she could give. Not like it was the first time she'd donated blood.
Holding out her wrist she tried to steady her voice. "Here, I'll stop you if it gets too much. Believe me, I can do that. Please Aidan, help yourself."

Date: 2014-04-02 04:37 pm (UTC)His mouth immediately clamped down on her wrist, knowing just how and where to bite despite the pain and how long it had been since he fed. As soon as the blood hit his mouth he let out an almost sexual moan, sucking at it greedily. The pain in his body started to ease just a bit at he continued to drink. Aidan would need more to heal, he'd need so much and he continued to drain it from Rachel.

Pints of blood in the human body, rate of flow, the number of pints a person can lose before losing consciousness, she counted the seconds, estimating how much he was drinking and how fast. Eventually, she had to start to pull her arm away, putting a shield between her skin and his teeth. It was hard, but she did it.
"Aidan, please, baby, tell me you're okay. Please." She was going to need a couple of stitches in her wrist, but now that she had her powers she could stop the flow of blood until that could happen. "Aidan?"

Date: 2014-04-04 04:51 am (UTC)The narcotic would hit her soon, he hoped, then she would stop struggling so much and just give in to it. Only it didn't, instead he found his mouth forced from her wrist, the blood nothing more than just a taste on his lips. He still hurt, not entirely healed from the burns, and he needed more blood. Even if he didn't need it Aidan wasn't sure he could have stopped himself. Building up a resistance to the call of the blood was something that took time and he was badly out of practice.
Turning to Rachel, his eyes were still pitch black and he opened his mouth wide, baring his fangs before he lunged at her, going straight for her neck.

Date: 2014-04-04 03:42 pm (UTC)Okay, that wasn't a good sign. Feeling a bit woozy, Rachel managed to dodge his lunge, still acutely aware of the hunger radiating off of him. But Aidan was in there, she was certain of it, she just needed to find a way to break him out of this... whatever it was.
Rachel's very large and very well-trained hunting companion, however, was having none of it and he lunged in to block Aidan and place himself between his mistress and what he saw as a clear threat. Baring his impressive teeth, Zero crouched, ready to attack. The situation was getting worse and not better.

Date: 2014-04-05 03:29 am (UTC)Aidan flashed his fangs back at Zero, not concerned about the animal. It was Rachel that he wanted, whose blood he could still taste on his lips. He hadn't felt like this, felt this good even with the burns, in a long time. This was the woman that he loved though and everything in him wanted to drain her dry.
"Stop me," he begged. "Whatever it takes. I need more blood but you, ah, you can't let me take more from you."

Date: 2014-04-07 08:41 pm (UTC)"Zero, get over here." Snapping her fingers, Rachel did her best to convince Zero to stand next to her instead of in front of her. She wanted to make sure she could see as she shielded both herself and her loyal and very pissed-off guard.
"What do you want me to do? Knock you out? I've got a shield up, you can't touch me, but I still need to help you."

Date: 2014-04-08 03:54 pm (UTC)"Can you turn off my mind? I'm not healed and I need more blood. If you don't stop me, I'll kill someone. Please..."
Aidan didn't think he'd ever been so vulnerable and open with someone in his life, maybe not even with himself. He was always convinced that he could control himself, that he could handle the cravings. But here, here he had too much to risk, too many people he cared about.
