Ororo had spend time as a vampire, briefly, she might understand some of it, but Rachel... she just couldn't empathize with those kind of concerns. Rascism, intolerance, war, abuse, loss, those were all things she had personal experience in. Finding someone to snack on was not in her repitoire.
