Aidan closed his eyes for a moment to think. He wasn't sure how he could explain it, that he had just killed two women he'd been in relationships with and had a whole trainwreck of similar ones in his past.
"I think some of what I was comfortable doing was because I was pretending we were just friends," he said, opening his eyes. "I don't want to go backwards, but I expect I might be more cautious about moving further."
